Your Holistic Assessment for Low Dose Naltrexone

Will LDN help you?

At speKTrum health we understand that LDN stimulates your immune system and therefore operates very differently than most other forms of medication. We provide holistic consultations to assess your total health, evaluating all the factors that contribute to your illness, helping you to address root causes and thereby creating the best scenario for LDN to work.

Less is more

You’ve heard stories of people with autoimmune disease and cancer having remarkable results using very small doses of LDN, getting relief when huge doses of other forms of medication have been unable to help them.

If you have become increasingly restricted by your condition, experiencing more pain and discomfort, yet still find that you are using more and more medication, suffering with a growing number of side-effects, then LDN could be a good option for you.

How can LDN work for you?

You may already be confused about your condition and the many treatment options available. Did you know that, unlike most of your medication, which suppresses the immune system, LDN stimulates your immune system? So how can LDN help you?

It’s a different model of understanding the body – how it works and how disease works. I think eventually there will be changes in the paradigm of the way we think about diseases.
Dr Bernard Bihari
The Pioneer of LDN

Why LDN?

FOR many people, suppressing immune function and stopping pain can help in the short-term, but there are often specific reasons why your immune system has become activated and overloaded in illnesses such as rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s, lupus, Crohn’s and other immune disorders.

What could be overloading your immune system?

Your immune load could be due to an excess of poisons that have come into your body from diet, lifestyle and your environment ...

You may be creating toxins in your own body which is causing your immune overload ...

You may have an inability to detoxify and eliminate your toxins efficiently, causing your immune system overload ...

LDN at speKTrum health

LDN helps your immune function and your elimination processes. But LDN will help most if you are able to reduce your immune load and this can sometimes make the difference between success and failure. At speKTrum health we provide holistic consultations to assess your total health. We evaluate all the factors that contribute to your illness, helping you to address root causes and thereby creating the best scenario for LDN to work.

Why is this happening to YOU, what are the root causes?

You may have physical problems with the boundaries of your body; your membranes lining your gut, lungs, skin etc ...

You may have emotional stresses which can also be a big factor contributing to poor immune function - adrenalin and cortisol that you naturally produce under stress are very effective immune suppressors ...

You may have underfunctioning organs that are important for detoxification and elimination, such as the liver, kidneys and lymphatic system ...

Importantly, at speKTrum health we are able to understand how to help you integrate both orthodox and complementary options, given that you may be taking some form of medication already.

Low Dose Naltrexone Assessments:

If you are suitable for Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) we will be able to prescribe LDN as well as complementing this with other advice, including suggestions on lifestyle changes, diet, supplements, emotional support, strategies to help the impact of specific thoughts on your body, homeopathy, and where needed, integration with orthodox medicine.

Naltrexone is a licensed, 'prescription-only’ medication used in higher doses for helping patients with drug and alcohol issues, but used at lower doses it has a strong evidence base in clinical trials and laboratory research in certain chronic diseases, immune disorders and cancers, where it also has a very good safety record. It is not licensed for use in low dose and so, if prescribed for you, it will be an off-label prescription. This is both legal and ethical within the General Medical Council guidelines in the UK.

For more information about the LDN component of your treatment, here is a link here to our speKTrum health Low Dose Naltrexone page (please also have a look at the video available). We will suggest other elements to help your condition; we use a mind-body approach, attempting to deal with root causes, as well as interventions to stimulate your innate self-healing mechanisms.
